Gentlemen of the Garden bash a devilish delight

A new generation of pirates, devils, superheroes, and angels urned out for an evening hellbent on revelry at the annual Devil’s Night, a costumed bash hosted by the Gentlemen of the Garden.

The event, themed Devil’s Night: Rebirth, took place Friday night at the Flagler Museum’s pavilion.

It was a mostly young crowd, which means it was a late night. (Really, once one gets to be a certain age, if the knees don’t give out on the dance floor or the liver doesn’t give out at the bar, there’s still that pesky driving-home-after-dark thing.)

The evening included cocktails; music by “musical ninja” Jason Cardinal; food stations by Echo, Hullabaloo, LongBoards and Rocco’s Tacos; a costume contest; and dancing to The Spazmatics that went on until even Casper gave up the ghost.

Oh, ha ha ha.

Kristin Holmes was the night’s chairwoman, with Oliver Cameron-Hayes, son of GOG founder Jonathan Cameron-Hayes, serving as chairman. Julio Gonzalez was honorary chairman.

Proceeds benefit the Gentlemen of the Garden, founded in 1991 with a mission to support the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. The organization has extended its philanthropic reach to landscaping and environmental beautification projects. Past recipients include the Mounts Botanical Garden, The Community Foundation Green Fund, Locks of Love and The YMCA of the Palm Beaches.
